My career has been centered around both technology and product development in optoelectronics and photonics, with a strong focus on laser diodes. I have executed a range of R&D projects, from integrated optoelectronic circuits for telecommunications to high-power lasers for Defence and Space customers. I have prepared several project proposals that won funding and evolved into multi-year R&D programs. With over 60 scientific publications and conference presentations, I strive to stay at the forefront of photonics research as well as applied science. I have also authored 6 patents and patent applications.

I have also founded my own start-up company, TheWhollySee, to harness photonics for a human-free image annotation technology to supply terabytes of training data for supervised deep learning and neural networks in autonomous vehicle applications.

I also provide independent technical expertise to government bodies, perform project evaluation and monitoring, and peer review for international photonics-related conferences and publications.
