I have 15 years’ experience in software documentation, utilising many of the tools-of-the-trade, including Adobe Framemaker and Robohelp, MadCap Flare, and XMetaL Author.

I am proficient in writing English for an international audience, with an understanding of the requirements of localisation. I have contributed to the development of user interfaces, focussing on the need for clear and simple on-screen text that is suitable for translation into multiple languages.

I work enthusiastically with developers, business analysts, subject matter experts and support staff to create documentation that enhances the product and reduces user error.

I am a Member of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators, and keep abreast of developments in the industry, in areas such as structured authoring, single sourcing, and the effects of social media on technical communication.
