As the Associate Director of Communications and Public Relations at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton, I’ve enjoyed working cross-functionally to implement a communications and PR strategy that has increased engagement and improved the school’s reputation; effective tactics that among other things, resulted in the highest enrollment in school history for 2021-22. Executing strategies of a pandemic-related crisis management plan allowed the school's communications to stay on message and avoid missteps.

Some recent projects at SHS include: overseeing a website redesign and SEO audit that increased website traffic; developing PR for the school's capital campaign, collaborating with vendors to design videos and marketing collateral that achieved our vision; and writing all SHS Magazine content while also managing the designer’s layout process.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in media for several publishers, including the Associated Press, Capitol Weekly, and the Orange County Register. As associate editor, I guided Entrepreneur Magazine to excellence, resulting in a Maggie Award. Over 1,500 articles with my byline have appeared in outlets like Washington Post, Business Insider, and MSNBC.

Experience on the editorial side is integral to being a true communications pro—it informs me as I devise plans, pitches, and events that result in coverage. I also bring digital marketing expertise to the table.
As SEO/social media editor at health website Lifescript (now Everday Health), traffic grew from seven million unique viewers per month to 20 million per month over the course of a year and a half.

During my nearly five years in the wine industry, I managed PR for a portfolio of 40 luxury wine brands at the second-largest wine company in the world. I headed up media events, developed comms plans for marketing managers, and oversaw a dozen PR agencies, constantly poring over metrics to improve on strategy. These efforts resulted in coverage from top outlets like Huffington Post, Travel & Leisure, and Vanity Fair, to name a few.

I am a driven individual who thrives on new challenges and continually honing my skills. Creating materials geared to varying audiences, testing and then adjusting to achieve better ROI, speaks to my agility and versatility as a design-savvy writer, editor, and digital strategist.
