In today’s highly virtual world, modern learners want training to be short, visual, mobile, enabled, and social—with ready access to rigorous and relevant content. As a Talent & Learning Development Leader, I have played an important leadership role in devising content modernization strategies to transition organizations from a culture of training to a culture of learning and upskilling.
Whether challenged to lead the strategic planning and execution of a corporate university, lead global learning and development (L&D) operations and strategy, and/or pioneer the definition and execution of a comprehensive enterprise learning management strategy, I have delivered innovative onboarding and learning experiences for Fortune 500 and 1000 companies in the high-tech and biopharmaceutical industries.
Highlights of my accomplishments include:
► Transformed the employee onboarding at Okta, Inc. to a virtual orientation experience, driving engagement and interaction with the company culture.
► Revamped and restructured learning and development courses at Gilead Sciences—accelerating the adoption of inclusion as a core corporate value.
► Played an integral leadership role in transforming performance management, and improving the learning experience at Juniper Networks, designing and delivering innovative and scalable new learning capabilities, and leading the consolidation of learning management systems (LMS).
► Enabled a newly established sales force at Apple to acquire U.S. K-12 education accounts, developing and delivering onboarding and sales-skills training.
While my background is strong in classic instructional design, my career has spanned a broad set of learning and development experiences, including learning and development strategy, learning management systems, field enablement, employee and leadership development, and education and training. On a more personal note, I have been described as a big-picture thinker, with the ability to see the infinite number of influence points, and a creative thinker—devising and executing innovative and first-time solutions to engage and retain learners.
