Founded the Malenki Theater Association in 1997 with a group of artists who immigrated to Israel from the FSU. From the beginning, the members of the group decided to create an additional theatrical framework that would enable them and other immigrant artists to find their place in the theater world and integrate into the Israeli theater scene. Also from the beginning, it was decided to produce all the shows in Hebrew in order to become a true part of the cultural environment in Israel.
The theater soon won public and critical acclaim.

In 2001 Malenki entered a new era when actors and artists who graduated from various Israeli schools, as well as veteran Israeli actors, gradually joined the theater. This change, which was anticipated and hoped for, affected Malenki's image and helped the theater find its place in Israeli cultural life. The shows produced during this period enjoyed exposure to larger audiences and elicited wider interest from the Israeli press. Several productions won awards within various theatrical frameworks, and in 2006 Malenki obtained the official status of a theater group recognized by the Ministry of Culture.
