Assessor médico em genômica/médico geneticista
I am a board-certified medical geneticist by the Brazilian Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics and Brazilian Academy of Medicine. I have clinical genetics expertise, including pediatric and adult-onset genetic diseases. My academic focus has been translational cancer research. My research project as a postdoctoral fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute was about both tumor and germline analyses with new algorithms. My main interest is developing a comprehensive cancer risk assessment tool that incorporates all germline variants (high, moderate and low penentrance), family history and clinical variables that modify the risk of cancer. I am proficient in variant interpretation/curation.
I am very engaging as teaching precision medicine and increasing public awareness and literacy in the medical genetics and genomics field.
