Kimberly Israel

Technical Editor at USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)

Durham, North Carolina

My most recent work has been as a plant and community ecologist collecting and analyzing data on natural communities and plant species to support conservation decision-making and educational outreach. I am seeking new challenges to use my skills in conservation, research, education, or other fields that ultimately serve the common good.

My skills include ecology field work, data management, remote sensing interpretation, statistical analysis, writing and editing, project organization, ArcGIS, SQL, PC-ORD, MS Office, and R. I learn new skills quickly and easily, and for the right job I would be willing to begin with two weeks unpaid to learn new software or procedures. I am a self-motivated team player who works well in a team environment or as an individual contributor.

Skills I am currently interested in learning include AutoCAD, video editing, and library science skills. If you have a short-term project that would allow me to learn any of these skills in exchange for my labor, we might be able to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement.
