Peter Ferola is a general counsel for innovative companies. He has:

• Closed $3.5+ billion in M&A and other strategic corporate domestic and international transactions
• Executed $500 million in secured and unsecured corporate financing transactions
• Supported $300+ million in new business opportunities and expansion into new markets
• Resolved $100+ million in potential corporate exposure and litigation, including federal investigations

Unusual for a GC, Peter has more than 25 years of industry and operational experience for both public and privately-held companies—including 12 years as the VP of Administration of consumer products and private label manufacturer The Stephan Co. In that role, he helped take revenue from $2 million to $40 million—earning The Stephan Co. recognition as one of NASDAQ’s best performing small caps.

Peter began his legal career as a lawyer in the law firms Greenberg Traurig and Dilworth Paxson during the height of PE-funded M&A and aggressive IPOs. He was tapped for his first in-house role in 2009, asked to take over as GC at Nipro Diagnostics following a change of leadership at the developer, manufacturer, and marketer of diabetes monitoring and management products.

After helping position Nipro for acquisition, and negotiating the sale at a 92% market premium, Peter was recruited to join BioTelemetry, a developer and the world’s leading supplier of mobile cardiac and blood-glucose monitors. At BioTelemetry, he again supported corporate growth, from $40 million to a peak of $2.5 billion market cap, and taking share prices from ~$2 to a height of ~$80. In addition to strategic M&A worldwide, Peter’s deals included a strategic partnership with Apple Inc. and Stanford University to provide services for the world’s largest clinical trial—with 400,000+ participants—to demonstrate ability of wearable technology (Apple Watch app) to identify arrhythmias.

He continues be a true business partner to boards, executives, and other leaders.
