In my formative years, I solo'd (just me) on building several significant internal web apps to support workflows for a software development department of around 500 individuals. I interviewed stakeholders, created design mocks, designed the database, researched and chose appropriate libraries and tools, wrote the front-end and back-end code, built out & configured hosting VMs, deployed, wrote documentation, and supported the apps for several years. Over 10 years later I hear these apps are still used daily. That's something I'm very proud of.

I went on to work for a front-end only team where we worked on a large web app (ArcGIS Business Analyst) for C-level decision makers who need to make decisions powered by geographic and demographic data. I significantly improved the performance of the app, modernized the codebase and architecture, added new features, and rebuild the preference system to support some sophisticated workflows.

Now I work at FloQast, where I have been supporting the engineering department as the tech lead of the newly formed front-end platform team. I especially enjoy building excellent new UI controls and helping improve architecture and security.

My career mission statement is "to help people get their work done," and I try to work for companies and develop on products that align with that mission." />

Senior Software Engineer at FloQast

Experienced full-stack software engineer specializing in front-end. I take pride in building excellent UI/UX that gets the details right.

I'm skilled in many aspects of front-end development: modern JavaScript and TypeScript, React, CSS, the "back-end of the front-end", architecture, security design, and user interface design. On the back-end, I'd had experience with Node, C#/.NET, Ruby, JRuby, Java, Python, and SQL Server.
