Hello, I am Taurean Mathis,


I am married with two children and I am also a combat veteran with 5 years of Military Police service. Right now, I am assigned as a patrol sergeant with the Tarpon Sprngs Police Department. In addition to my police work, I serve on community boards and work with volunteer organizations, that support our disadvanted populations.

I have also helped St. Petersburg College in preparing students for graduation by conducting mock interviews on their behalf. I also conduct oral boards for new police officers entering our agency. I have a BS in Public Policy and Administration (St. Petersburg College) and a MPA (Masters in Public Administration) from Barry University.

I have helped to plan and organize large events, that included safety and crowd control and I have given many talks on leadership as well. One of my proudest duties is working with the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for The Arts as a marching instructor.
