I have been working for the last 18 years as developer / manager / director / architect of Java based applications. My main focus was always around open source Java projects that can produce first class solutions for the companies I have worked for.

My main interests in the last few years are various NoSQL DB's and the Hadoop ecosystem.

I had a chance to evaluate many different NoSQL solutions and to implement solutions based on the ones I found best fit for my needs (MongoDB and HBase).

I also designed and implemented a few Big Data solutions based on the Hadoop ecosystem using: Spark, Hadoop Map/Reduce, HBase, Cascading, Pig, Hive, Phoenix, Impala, Kafka.
I have installed all of these solutions on top of AWS
