I am an immunologist with a major focus on engineering various immunological signaling pathways in the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) therapies against cancer. I have a further interest in the intersection between RNA virus pathogenesis and the activation of the innate and adaptive immune systems. Much of my work has involved the "first line" of defense against cancer and viruses, including dendritic cells, natural killer cells, and T cells. I have extensive experience in developing and supervising projects involving: flow cytometry, mouse immunological models, and development of primary cell culture systems.
