Based in Istanbul, Cemre Torun is a food writer, editor and consultant. She studied Marketing at Georgetown University and holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Boğaziçi University. For over 10 years, she has worked as the food editor for Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller and GQ Turkey, and has contributed to numerous local and international publications. She is one of the founders of YEDI, an Istanbul-based, international food conference, bringing together chefs, producers and opinion leaders around powerful discussions on food and beyond. She is the Academy Chair for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, covering Turkey, Greece, Israel and the Balkans. She is also a restaurant and brand consultant and the co-author of a cookbook of recipes and ideas focusing on seasonal ingredients. She is the editor and consultant of Grundig’s “Ruhun Doysun” project, focusing on sustainability, food waste and awareness around respect for food. Her last book and project is aimed to support the restaurant industry during the Covid-19 crisis. “Restaurants At Home” includes more than 100 recipes from Istanbul’s best restaurants and notes from both national and international culinary leaders.
