Security at State Comptroller and Ombudsman of The State of Israel @ Jerusalem
Senior Technical Writer/Regulatory Compliance Writer
My technical writing career spans twenty-six years, during which time I have been managing (both people and projects), analyzing procedures, consulting (security and information management), teaching, and writing. Collaborative efforts with executives, investigators, programmers, technicians, architects, bankers, lawyers, and engineers around the world have honed my ability to communicate well with everyone from cabbies to CEOs, troglodytes to “techies,” Turkey to Timbuktu.
In 1995, I co-founded Dynamic Data Services, Inc. (DDS), a software sales and development company for Folio Views, where I helped conceive, develop, and market software products; write and design instructions, and implement the applications on site. Software products created by DDS included an online safety and security guide, banking regulations reference, knowledge management tool, personal information manager, and an online procedures manual for the Georgia Superior Court Clerks – the first of its kind in the US.
As DDS morphed into a writing and editing firm, my tasks included gathering requirements; designing formats, forms, and templates; analyzing processes; beta testing applications; creating policies, procedures, user guides, and runbooks; and providing quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
In two large projects for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), I served as the sole tech writer for the development of a complex specimen tracking software from Vision Statement to User Guides, using Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and as editor for a group of PhDs within the Public Health Information Network (PHIN) standardizing HL7 medical codes for worldwide distribution.
Business arenas for projects include IT and telecommunications; payroll and benefits services; medical and healthcare; pharmaceutical; regulatory compliance; legal; insurance; banking; security; hardware and software technology; and manufacturing. Documentation has been provided for hardware, software, and data migrations, data centers, websites, regulatory compliance (HiTrust, OSHA, HIPAA, SNOMED, LOINC, 508, SOX, etc.), and business analyses, policies, procedures, and training.
I view business problems as opportunities not yet leveraged, and handle difficult or disastrous situations calmly, with a clear head, finding solutions where others see only impasse. The excellence of my work brings customers back whenever a project requires total accuracy and precise attention to detail, as you will note in my resume, which I am pleased to present for your consideration.
